Holiday flats and bungalows in Sweden's most beautiful locations

With its wonderful landscapes and strikingly beautiful cities, Sweden is a European hotspot ready to be explored. Head to Lake Vänern for a bout of fishing or embark on an adventurous hike through the thick of the country's woods.

Holiday homes on the coast

Sweden's coastal areas are especially beautiful. The Swedish coast stretches from Gothenburg to the Norwegian border. It is dotted with tiny, picturesque villages. Feast on fresh seafood and take a kayak to explore the coast's many inlets and waterways. You can rent a traditional bungalow with a large garden or choose a lovely secluded rental with a veranda. For the luxury lovers among you, a modern home with breathtaking panoramic views and a heated pool could be just what you are looking for.

The area and getting around

The North of Sweden

The country's North is best explored by car. With its wide range of outdoor activities on offer, Lapland is a great winter destination. Try snowmobiling or dog sledding for a lot of snowy fun. Kungsleden, Sweden's most famous hiking trail, runs between Abisko and Hemavan. In winter, it turns into a ski trail.

Fantastic Stockholm

Sweden's capital is one of Europe's and the world's most beautiful cities. Visit Drottningholm Palace on the outskirts of the city and find out more about the Vikings in the Vasa Museum. For all its royal glory, Stockholm is no stranger to some quirky street art. The Snösätra Wall of Fame is Sweden's largest graffiti wall featuring paintings by artists from all over the world.

Travellers and activities

Sweden for couples

While not a typical honeymoon destination, Sweden is nevertheless wonderfully romantic. Cosy up in a traditional red log cabin, sample some of Sweden's mouthwatering cakes and enjoy your evenings in front of a crackling fireplace. Cities like Stockholm and Gothenburg offer a vast array of fine dining options and world-class entertainment. Picturesque Gothenburg is a great destination for a romantic couples holiday. Stroll down the cobblestone streets, visit the Älvsborg Fortress located on a tiny island in the city's harbour and climb to the top of the Ragnhildsholmen Castle ruins to observe the breathtaking landscape.

Sweden for lovers of the great outdoors

Sweden is a hiker's paradise. Not only does the country have some of the world's most scenic hiking trails, it also offers dense forests, deep blue lakes and numerous national parks - 29 to be exact. In winter, the town of Åre transforms into Sweden's premier ski resort with a vast network of slopes. In summer, Åre's skiing slopes turn into downhill cycling trails frequented by avid mountain bikers.

Hundreds of thousands of moose roam freely in Sweden's forests. You're in with a good chance of encountering one of them during a hike!
