2.Corralejo Natural ReserveThis natural reserve contains the largest dunes in the Canary Islands and it’s a must-see. They stretch out for about 6 miles from Puerto Remedio to La Salina. Some of the reserve’s windy, dune-backed beaches are the most famous ones amongst surf and kite surf lovers as they provide the perfect conditions for these sports.
3.Isla de lobosThis islet just north of Fuerteventura comprises a large uninhabited nature preserve. Playa de la Concha is the main beach, well known for its clears waters. This is a picturesque mini-paradise for fishermen, sun-lovers and adventurers. The last human inhabitants were the lighthouse keeper and his family. Follow the stony paths that will bring you to shallow beaches where kids can play safely. There are no tourist attractions but there is a cafe and lots of mesmerising views of the sea.
4.The mystery of Cofete BeachA heavenly beach in a very remote corner, an abandoned mansion, railway tracks going nowhere, a little airstrip. Cofete has all the ingredients for legends and stories to emerge. Gustav Winter, a German engineer, bought that land. Rumours and stories about him spread quickly. Why did he buy that part of Jandía? 5.Betancuria, the former capitalA visit to this old town in the western part of the island is a must. Fascinating architecture lines the cobbled streets. During fiesta season, ensembles of local musicians fill the streets with traditional music.This village comes to life during the day and it goes quiet at night.
