At Water Sports Cavtat you can try your hand at jet skiing and parasailing, in which you start with a glass of fizz on the boat during the sunset experience and then glide around the bay of Cavtat followed by a dip in the water. The Cavtat crazy UFO ride is so much fun. It is an inflatable flying saucer attached to a fast-moving boat. Not only an adrenaline rush, but also a good workout and source of lots of laughter!

With its clean, calm seas and quiet pebble beaches, Cavtat is a wonderful seaside town for a family holiday. The aquarium-esque waters around the town offer some of the best snorkelling in the whole of Europe. Pack your mask and head to the Rat Peninsula by the harbour. Kids will also go crazy for the myriad boat rides that you can take from nearby Dubrovnik. Hop on a ferry to Mljet National Park – kids will love cycling around the island and exploring the many beautiful beaches.

This footpath is hidden gem. It is a 2-hour walk that takes you from Cavtat to Cilipi through unspoilt nature. Expect to see all sorts of wildlife, beautiful sea views on one side, and views across the mountains on the other.

Folk costumes, embroidery and traditional dances are an important part of the region’s culture. Eight kilometres from Cavtat, in the village of Cilipi, locals dress up on Sunday mornings in traditional costume and go to the main square to sing and dance.

Behind Cavtat there is a small hill atop which sits a cemetery and a mausoleum for the locally famous Račić family. It is an atmospheric place which offers the best views in town over the sea and mountainous backdrop

In the heart of the town, this church is well worth a visit for its notable early Renaissance paintings and a wonderful Bukovac canvas depicting the Madonna and Child gazing at Cavtat at dusk. The church is located on the northern edge of the town centre.

The town’s peninsula, primarily made up of woods and beaches, is circumnavigated by a lovely paved trail. There are a handful of bars and restaurants along the route where you can sit back and take in the insatiable views of this gorgeous part of the world!
