## Emplacement
The 7th arrondissement is to the southwest of the city center, and includes the Pointe du Vieux Port and the Friuli Islands. It is one of the most remote areas of the city, as it is particularly home to the immense golden statue of the Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde, the emblem of Marseilles. This district also includes one of the oldest Christian monuments in France: the Abbey of Saint-Victor; but also the Fort Saint-Nicolas and the Palais du Pharo.
You will discover the narrow and steep streets of the Saint-Victor and Saint-Lambert districts, but also the bourgeois and modern buildings that alternate with many shops on the sidewalks. Beautiful villas hidden in the winding streets are the charm of this privileged area, not easily accessible by public transport and car.
