Present and past – A ‘piece’ of the ancient past awaits you at Le Terme di Velia, a 19th century casolare in the midst of an olive grove.

Um das ehemalige "casolare", ein altes Bauernhaus, herum haben Archäologen Reste antiker Thermen geborgen. Daher rührt der Name dieser Unterkunft mit 2 Ferienwohnungen in Marina di Ascea - Le Terme di Velia.
Dank der teilweise in Bruchstein gestalteten Fassadenarchitektur bewahrt sich das Bauernhaus seinen rustikalen Charakter. Im Inneren ist es den Eigentümern Pantaleo und Alberta gelungen, ein stilvolles und zugleich behagliches Ambiente mit dem für die Region typischen Arte Povera-Mobiliar zu schaffen.

FERIENWOHNUNG IL MOSAICO
Im Appartement "Il Mosaico" entdeckte man während der Renovierungsarbeiten "un pezzetto di un antico mosaico", ein Teilstück eines antiken Mosaiks. Gekonnt wurde es in die Küchenwand integriert und trägt seither zum besonderen Flair der Ferienwohnung bei.

Betreten wird diese über die Essküche, wo Sie mit frischen Zutaten vom Markt, duftendem Brot und einem "vino della casa" Ihre Urlaubsgerichte zubereiten können. Olivenöl darf dabei auf keinen Fall fehlen: Fragen Sie bei Gelegenheit die Eigentümer, die in Ceraso eine kleine Azienda Agricola besitzen, nach einer Flasche des "flüssigen Goldes des Cilento".
Geschickt ist der große Schlaf-/Wohnbereich mit Platz zum Entspannen und Wohlfühlen durch eine durchbrochene Mauer, Stufen und einen schmucken Rundbogen von der Essküche abgesetzt.

Urlaub im Süden heißt natürlich auch Urlaub im Freien! Dafür stehen vor der Küche eine überdachte Terrasse mit Sicht auf das Tyrrhenische Meer und vor dem Schlafzimmer eine Pergola-Terrasse mit Blick über das wohltuende Grün der Olivenbäume zur Verfügung. Vom gepflegten, gemeinsam mit den anderen Gästen nutzbaren Garten sehen Sie bis zu den Ausgrabungen der altgriechischen Stadt Elea (das heutige Velia bzw. Ascea).

FERIENWOHNUNG IL POZZO
Auf Anfrage vermitteln wir Ihnen auch gerne das neben Il Mosaico gelegene und gleich geschnittene Appartement Il Pozzo (ebenfalls max. 3 Pers.). Beide Ferienwohnungen können zu einem großen Familienappartement verbunden werden. Bitte fragen Sie nach!

Ihr Auto können Sie neben dem Anwesen parken. Wer mit dem Zug anreist und einen PKW nur für einige Tage oder für Ausflüge benötigt, kann diesen über den Eigentümer direkt vor Ort mieten. Vom Bahnhof (Ascea oder Vallo Scalo) werden Sie kostenfrei von den Eigentümern abgeholt.

WEITERE INFORMATIONEN
Die nächsten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sowie Bars und Restaurants finden Sie im ca. 1 km entfernten Marina di Ascea. Der nächste Strand in Marina di Ascea ist nur ca. 800 m entfernt. Einen Shuttle-Service, der Sie von den Ferienwohnungen zum Sandstrand "Lido Velia" und zurück bringt, können Sie kostenlos nutzen.

Lassen Sie sich verzaubern vom einem ursprünglich gebliebenen Fleck Süditaliens: Olivenbäume, die im Nachbarhaus wohnende Bauernfamilie, die Lage der Terme di Velia abseits ausgetretener Touristenpfade und die Spuren vergangener Zeiten direkt vor Ihrer Türe machen hier das Besondere aus.

In the area around the casolare, a former farmhouse, archaeologists have recovered the remains of ancient thermae, hence the name of the accommodation with 2 holiday apartments at Marina di Ascea – Le Terme di Velia.
As the architectural design of the façade is partly quarry stone, the farmhouse has preserved its rustic-rural character. Inside, owners Pantaleo and Alberta have succeeded in creating a tasteful and at the same time cozy atmosphere with the arte povera furniture typical for the region.

HOLIDAY APARTMENT IL MOSAICO
At Il Mosaico, "un pezzetto di un antico mosaico", part of an ancient mosaic, which was discovered during the works of renovation, was skillfully integrated into the kitchen wall and adds to the special atmosphere at the apartment.

You enter Il Mosaico into the eat-in kitchen, where you can prepare your holiday meals with fresh ingredients from the market, fragrant bread, a "vino della casa" and, of course, olive oil. Do ask the owners, who also own a small azienda agricola at Ceraso, for a bottle of the ‘liquid gold of the Cilento’.
A few steps up from the kitchen, a remarkable round arch shaped opening lets you into a large room which is both living and sleeping area (double bed, pull-out sleeper chair) with enough space for relaxing and feeling at ease and access of the bathroom (shower/WC/bidet) as well as the outdoor area.
Il Mosaico features WiFi and air conditioning with heating system.

When vacationing in the south, you wish to spend as much time as possible outdoors. At Il Mosaico, you can do so on two terraces: The one in front of the entrance faces the Tyrrhenian Sea; the one accessible from the bedroom faces the soothing green of the olive trees. Of course you can also take it easy in the well-tended garden, which is shared by all the guests of Le Terme di Velia and from where your gaze roams as far as the excavation site of the ancient Greek town of Elea (later Velia, then Ascea).

HOLIDAY APARTMENT IL POZZO
Upon request, we can also arrange for apartment Il Pozzo (for up to 3 pers.), which is located next to Il Mosaico and identical in layout. The two holiday apartments can be connected to form a large family apartment. Please ask!

There’s a washing machine for shared use by all the guests. Bicycles can be provided upon request, a TV upon request and at extra charge.
Parking is available next to the property. The owners offer free pick-up from the train station (Ascea or Vallo Scalo). For train travelers who require a car for only a few days or some excursions, rental of a car can be arranged on site by the owner of Le Terme di Velia.

FURTHER INFORMATION
The nearest shopping facilities, bars and restaurants are found about 1 km off at Marina di Ascea. The nearest beach at Marina di Ascea is about 800 m from the accommodation. There is a free of charge shuttle service you can use to get to the sandy beach "Lido Velia" and back.

This still authentic corner in southern Italy radiates an enchanting atmosphere: Olive trees, the farmer’s family living next door, the location of Le Terme di Velia off the beaten tourist tracks and the traces of bygone times right at its doorstep make it so special.
