The place is an ideal starting point for excursions in the area. A hiking trail leads through aromatic macchia past a votive church to the Greek watchtower Tor, which offers beautiful views of Jelsa, Stari Grad, as well as Brac and Makarska. About ten kilometers from Jelsa is the herding settlement of Humac, whose well-preserved stone houses date back some 200 to 300 years. From here it is not far to Grapceva spilja cave, whose interesting stalactite formations can only be viewed as part of a guided tour.The historic and very picturesque island towns of Hvar and Stari Grad can be reached quickly by car or bus.
